Story
„You need to get ready,“ said Margo. I knew she was right, but I couldn’t find my hat.
“I can’t go without it.” I started to be desperate. Marleen was waiting for me fully prepared. If I could only leave all my things at the same place, I wouldn’t have trouble finding them. At least she was in a good mood today. I told her there were no rains announced in the forecast. She hates storms. I yawned.
“I’m not used to getting up this early.”
“But you are awake, so keep it like that, all right?” Margo insisted. I nodded and continued in my search for the hat. Suddenly, Marleen lured me to follow her. Her head disappeared in a bush nearby and reappeared with my hat in her muzzle.
“Leen!! How did you find it?” I exclaimed happily. I stroked her and finished all necessary preparations.
“How do feel about today?” I asked her. I didn’t need her to be able to speak as her eyes and horns turned blue immediately and that was a sign she is calm and relaxed. We have seen the arena the previous day and we were very excited about its look. I have never seen such remarkable scenery. I imagined how we would find a secret path leading down to the sea and how we would rush and dive into the water after our performance. But I was warned it is nothing like our warm Colderrian sea, quite the opposite. Besides, that was yesterday. Now that I’m thinking about it, it seems like a stupid idea. All I want to do after our performance is to dive into my bed. At last we were all ready to go out of the stables towards the arena. The cool air hit my body the minute I walked out of the stables. I shivered and stood in astonishment.
“How the hell are we supposed to show something to the people when there is a mist all around? I can barely see my legs!” I exclaimed.
“Calm down, Julia! I believe before your turn the mist will be long gone.”
“You can’t know that, Margo.”
“Sure I can. Look, you are fourth and its 6 o’clock now.”
We waited patiently and watched the other participants. We could see them all well. Like there was some kind of spell which kept the fog out of the arena. But it was no mystery after all. Margo was right, the fog was not so thick anymore. When it was our turn, the mist started to creep over the arena a little, but it only covered the ground. It created a great enigmatic effect, together with the music I have chosen. I was really pleased with Marleen’s performance. She didn’t do a single thing incorrectly. I believe the jury was pleased, too. But most of all, as well as when we participated other shows, we enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the stunning countryside around us.

That's right - my horse has no mane, but it has fox-like tail and markhorse horns which can, along with eyes, change its color according to the horse's mood
